In One with God, I show from John’s Gospel that being “one with God” (John 17:11, 21) shapes our identity, gives us purpose, and controls our destiny. If that’s true, then that means something quite profound and mysterious: eternity has come to meet the present. Destiny has entered your day, and mine.
This is bizarre because eternity, we think, is something “out there,” beyond the horizon of what we can see and experience. And, of course, that’s true in one sense. But the picture of eternity gets deeper and fuller when we think about the Son of eternal God coming not just to the earth—which is already mind-blowing—but into the hearth of a human heart.
